Addicted to Art - My Journey as an Artist

I have loved drawing as long as I can remember. I didn’t have any particular motivation except that I just enjoyed drawing, so I kept at it through the years. I guess you could say I was addicted to art from an early age.

I have taken classes and workshops over the years, and had a few great teachers, but mostly I have learned by doing - studying art history, looking at art, and mostly just drawing with various media including pencil, pen and ink and pastels.

I always wanted to paint, but never felt I had the time. After I retired I had no excuse, so I started painting regularly in 2023. I’m getting the hang of it, and it’s very rewarding.

I never really thought much about making a living as an artist, and I still don’t. But I hope I can sell a few works, just to share some of my joy with others and help pay for expenses like materials and traveling around the Southwest taking pictures.
